It is our privilege to announce ACCA’s second MLA reception, and to extend an invitation to your organization to join us in making it a resounding success.
The ACCA MLA reception is the ideal setting to have a conversation with MLAs from all parties about the impacts your co-operative creates in the economy, and to articulate the opportunities and challenges you face. Last year’s event saw close to 50 MLAs, including 4 ministers, in attendance.
If connecting with government is a strategic goal for your co-operative, this event provides the perfect opportunity to network, build relationships, and effectively communicate what is important to your co-operative and it’s members.
November 21st is an opportunity for the co-operative and credit union sector to get to know the MLAs and vice-versa. We’re expecting a business-casual environment, where everyone in attendance is open to networking and relationship building. Attendees are asked to arrive by 5:30 PM, MLAs will be stopping by and mingling between 5:30 and 7:30 PM.
This year we are also inviting attendees to submit briefing notes to government. ACCA will collect these briefing notes until November 17th, to submit to MLAs, and if desired, direct towards specific ministers. If you need some help getting started, here is a LINK to a briefing guide resource. Also, please feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions.
We also encourage attendees to reach out to their MLAs or relevant ministers before the event, especially if you would like to meet them in person. Speaking with them, or their staff (scheduling assistant or chief of staff), directly is a great way to ensure you are able to meet them at the reception on the 21st. You can find your MLA through the MLA directory.
