Our 2022 Annual General Meeting was held in Calgary and online on June 14. Over forty members attended the event (which was combined with CMC Congress and held at the Palliser Hotel). At the AGM we celebrated our shared successes over the past year and profiled a new tool that will make member advocacy easier and more effective.

The new advocacy tool

At the AGM we unveiled a new advocacy tool that will make it quick and easy for co-operatives to engage elected officials. With this tool, co-operative members and advocates can, with a click of a button, add their voice to pre-written messages advocating for legislative changes to make it easier to do business in our province. No more forwarding e-mails, printing off documents, and finding out who to send messages to - this tool does all that work for you! The only thing necessary is to click the link, find the issue that you’d like to advocate for, and provide your name, e-mail, and postal code (so we can send your message to your local MLA). That’s it! This tool has been used extensively by other groups to promote their agendas, and we’re excited to see it here to leverage the numerical power of our membership to make Alberta the best place in the world for co-operatives to grow and thrive.
