Celebrating the 2022 Youth Leadership Program
On June 30, the first bus of youth arrived at the Goldeye Centre near Nordegg for the Co-operative Youth Leadership Program (CYLP). By the time the last group left the mountains on July 18, a total of 125 youth ranging in age from 11 and 18 (and 25 volunteer staff!) had experienced the CYLP, made connections with like-minded peers, and learned about co-operative values in a fun, inspiring setting. Here are some of their stories:
“I learned so many things about myself this week that have made me realize how amazing I really am.”
- Youth Participant
“This program helped me learn more about myself like I am an amazing and beautiful person and to rise up, I need to help others rise too! “
- Pre-Teen Participant
“My favorite thing about this program is that everyone loves their differences.”
- Pre-Teen Participant
“I have learned a lot about myself and that my values are important and that I need to give myself more credit. This program allows you to be your own unique self and express your own opinions, judgment-free.”
- Teen Participant
“I believe that the ACCA youth program gives youth confidence & makes them aware of their own capabilities and values as well as teaches them so many important life skills.”
- Teen Participant
“Your program has a great impact on the youth. What a great experience and a privilege to attend! “
