Premier Danielle Smith to Highlight the 2024 Alberta Co-operative Conference

[Edmonton, Oct 15] — The Alberta Community and Co-operative Association (ACCA) is excited to announce that Premier Danielle Smith will once again attend the 2024 Alberta Co-operative Conference, serving as a key speaker during the evening reception. Her participation underscores the importance of the co-operative movement in Alberta and its role in driving community and economic growth.

This year’s conference, themed "Moving Forward: From Us to What's Next," is set to bring together co-operators, industry leaders, and advocates from across the province. It will serve as a platform for inspiring discussions on innovative practices within the co-operative sector and how these can address contemporary challenges.

Vicki Zinyk, ACCA's Board Chair, expresses enthusiasm for the Premier’s involvement: "We are thrilled that Premier Smith will join us in celebrating the contributions of the co-operative sector. Her presence reinforces the commitment to building a strong, sustainable future for Alberta."

Corinne Remple, Executive Director of ACCA, highlights the critical role co-operatives play in the economy: "Co-operatives are pivotal in fostering economic resilience and diversity in Alberta. We are eager to share their successes and potential directly with Premier Smith and the attending MLAs."

Premier Smith's address will be a highlight of the Elected Officials Reception and Co-op Leadership Awards, which promises to be an inspiring event. To register for the evening reception, please use this link. Doors will open at 6:40 pm.
