Every year since 2010, the 12th of August has been observed as International Youth Day. This day celebrates the potential of youth worldwide, highlights the issues confronting them, and calls upon the international community to harness the power of youth in solving the world's challenges. At the Alberta Community & Co-operative Association (ACCA), we recognize International Youth Day as an important reminder of young people's potential in shaping our future. This day offers an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of young leaders and to reinforce our commitment to supporting their development within the co-operative sector. We are actively seeking opportunities to nurture young talent and foster the conditions necessary for their success.

Special Rates for Young Co-op Entrepreneurs

To mark this occasion, ACCA introduces special membership rates designed specifically for young co-operative entrepreneurs. These rates are not just about affordability but also about recognizing the unique challenges faced by young leaders establishing and leading co-operatives. We aim to reduce financial barriers to their success and ensure that young leaders feel supported and valued.

Here's what we're offering:

• Special Membership Rates: Co-operatives that have been established and are led by individuals aged 18 to 35 are eligible for a discounted membership rate. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to support young leaders in the co-operative sector.

• Additional Discounts: Co-ops launched through the support of a recognized Co-op Development program will receive an additional discount. We value the role of structured development programs in helping young entrepreneurs succeed and want to offer further support to those who have benefited from such initiatives.

How to Apply

If you are a young co-operative entrepreneur aged 18 to 35, we encourage you to apply for our special membership rate. Additionally, if your co-op was established with the help of a recognized Co-op Development program, you qualify for a further reduced rate.
