Strengthening Communities: The Power of the ACCESS, Econo Coop, and ACCA Partnership
ACCESS, Econo Coop, and ACCA share a vital partnership that strengthens all three organizations and the sectors they serve. The Alberta Community and Co-operative Association (ACCA) has a close relationship with ACCESS, fostering collaboration that enhances cooperative and community impact efforts.
As the Supplier Business Relationship Manager for Econo Coop, Tyler also serves as a Director of ACCESS and is the key contact for group buying at this time. Tyler brings to the cooperative and community impact sector his experience in managing a 2,700-member, $15 million in revenue per year retail cooperative in Nova Scotia. He is also in the final months of completing his Master of Management in Co-operatives and Credit Unions through the International Centre for Co-operative Management at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. Additionally, Tyler is a Director and Treasurer with the Nova Scotia Cooperative Council and a member of Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada's Emerging Co-operators committee.
Through the partnership between ACCESS, Econo Coop, and ACCA, Tyler sees a wealth of opportunities for the cooperative and community impact sectors to combine their strengths, save money, and increase their local influence through cooperative practices. "Partnerships such as we have here are vital to competing in the 21st century and giving smaller organizations every advantage they can get," says Tyler.
Beyond his professional contributions, Tyler and his wife are parents to a five-year-old daughter, and together they enjoy road trips, camping, and exploring new places. Outside of work, Tyler is also a soccer referee, having officiated at two national championships, and is currently training to become an instructor and mentor for other officials. His dedication to both his career and his community exemplifies the cooperative values that drive these partnerships forward.
