Alberta Order of Excellence Seeks Nominations to Recognize Inspiring Individuals

Established in 1979, the Alberta Order of Excellence is Alberta's highest honour bestowed on citizens. The object of the Order is to accord recognition to those persons who have served with great distinction and of singular excellence for or on behalf of Albertans. The Alberta Order of Excellence (AOE) is the highest honour the Province of Alberta can bestow on a citizen.

"Members of the Alberta Order of Excellence represent the best of our province. Their dedication, innovation and commitment to caring for others serve as a testament to the importance of active citizenship and a powerful reminder of the role we can each play in building a stronger future for our fellow Albertans and for all Canadians," former Lt. Gov. Lois Mitchell, Chancellor of the Alberta Order of Excellence

Nominate inspiring individuals

The objective of the Order is to recognize persons who have served with great distinction and of singular excellence for, or on behalf of, the residents of Alberta. Albertans are encouraged to nominate inspiring individuals who have left a legacy in their respective fields. Contributions and achievements range from medicine, science, engineering, law, and business to politics, education, community service, agriculture and the arts. All members have had an outstanding impact within the province, country or worldwide. Any person can participate by nominating persons whom they feel are worthy of this acknowledgement and honour.

Nominations and letters of support occur annually and must be received by February 15, 2021.
