Co-ops and COVID-19: YYC Growers

When asked how YYC Growers is doing dealing with COVID-19, Rod Olson’s response was a simple: “We are full steam ahead!”

Rod noted they had to do a lot of quick adjustments to their pick-up locations as many of them were mandated to be closed. “We love our local community and have some great local businesses that are still able to be open through all this and they are now hosting our drop sites, including The Light Cellar, Reworks Upcycle Shop, The Blue Door, and Forage,” said Rod.

YYC Growers has also stocked their webstore with many more products and have added home delivery to their offerings, noting delivery is where they could use some help.

As expected in the co-operative community, they are reaching out to others. “We are interacting with other local businesses hit by changes and have offered the warehouse as a bit of a staging area for delivery of other local products,” said Rod.
