ACCA and COVID-19 - Services Update

ACCA Responds to COVID-19

ACCA continues to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and the health recommendations for containment to determine the impacts to our organization, our members, and our upcoming events.

ACCA Internal Response:

All ACCA staff have been instructed to work from home and shift any in-person meetings to video conference or telephone calls. Fortunately, ACCA already conducts many of its operations virtually so we do not anticipate much disruption to our services to our members.

We have one employee returning from a vacation out of country who will be in self-isolation until the end of March. Although we have trained back-up for this function, there may be some delays in some of our financial operations and ask for your patience and understanding.

We are proceeding with our ACCA Board Meeting scheduled for March 27, which will be held by video and telephone conference call.

We have directed our staff that non-mandatory travel is cancelled until further notice and they are asked to follow recommendations from Alberta Health regarding social distancing.

ACCA Annual General Meeting (AGM):

The ACCA Board will be discussing options for the AGM, which is scheduled for May 27 in Red Deer. Options to be discussed include moving to a virtual meeting via video and telephone conference call or postponing the event until a later date. We will provide an update to our members after our March 27 Board meeting.

ACCA Co-operative Youth Leadership Program:

The health of our youth, the volunteer staff, and their families is paramount. For the time being, the program will take place as planned until the situation suggests otherwise.  We will continue to strictly abide by government public health directives and will keep you informed of future developments. We will also be connecting directly with the people who have volunteered to staff the program with updates regarding the Staff Training Weekend scheduled for the beginning of May.
